1 | Let The Show Begin

On a dark deserted road in the middle of nowhere Texas a man stands bleeding. He falls over against his pickup truck covering his leaking wound. Unable to walk he murmurs a silent scream and reaches out for help but everything is blurry now. He falls down to the road and can hear scuffling about, but can't tell what's going on. The sounds are frightening.

:News airs across the screen:"Reports are coming in about a family gone missing in Texas. No leads have been discovered and only traces of victims have been left behind." Reports one news reporter "Authorities can't seem to locate families gone missing in Texas. Locals say They've seemed to have just, disappeared."

A young lady runs up to a house in broad daylight and beats on the door to the house in the backyard. "Please let me in, oh my god, please!" An elderly man comes to the door and unlocks it as fast as he can. "Oh sugar, what's all the fuss about?" She storms in and slams the door shut behind her and locks it. "He's after me! It's him!" The elderly man gently asks "Who's after you dear, what's going on?" his wife comes down the hallway, "Who is it, dear? What's the matter?" The young blonde haired girl breathing heavily trying to hide says, "It's him, the killer, he's after me. Please, don't let him find me!" The elderly man reassures her, "Honey, nobody is gonna hurt you. Get her some lemonade." He tells his wife.

"No, you don't understand, he's after me. He knows I'm here. He's trying to kill me." The old man says, "Now, you listen. No one ever messes around around here. They know better than that." Just then the door knob starts to jiggle. "No... he's here.. " She whispers while shivering.

The old man's wife coming back with lemonade sees the tall dark figure trying at the doorknob and screams. She turns around to run away and the lemonade goes flying off the tray and into the wall. The dark figure starts slamming against the door and kicking it desperately trying to knock it open. He breaks through the door and chases the girl around the room trying to grab her. He misses and she darts down the hallway toward the front door. He raises his axe and slams it down toward her but gets it caught in the overhead wall above the start of the hallway.

The masked man, stuck, pulls at the axe but it doesn't come out. The girl ran to her vehicle and fumbled with her keys as she was getting in her car, but dropped her keys on the floor board and struggles to find them. With the killer inside the house she doesn't have much time. She picks up the keys as frantically as she can and tries to start the car. He hears this and shakes the axe free and continues his chase. He flys out the front door after her.

She finally gets the car to start and throws it in reverse. She slams on the gas and backs into her pursuer. His body thumps into the car leaving his axe slammed stuck to the trunk from the force of the blow. She gears into drive and hauls off like a bat out of hell. Crying to herself, she stops the car a half mile down the road. She looks at a picture of her fiance in the dash and slams her fist on the steering wheel. The picture is of her fiance and her family all together. She grips the wheel harder and closes her eyes.

The sun sets in the distance and her car remains motionless. She is startled from a shreik caused by the grinding of the metal axe being removed from her trunk. She looks in her rear view immediately but no one is there. She turns around to see if the axe was really gone but the driver side window shatters from the butt of the axe. She screams and fights to get away while he tries to reach into the car. She slams on the gas and the side of her car smacks his hand away. The axe gets stuck in the door as she drives off, dragging him behind.

She opens the door and tries to kick him off but he is grabbing at her leg. She finally kicks the door with her foot and it springs open. Her stalker falls off into the ditch as the car door is bounces back slam shut. His body was sent smacking the sludge as he lands face first. After shaking him off, she drove as far as the road took her. It was getting dark, so she decided to find a secluded spot to park the car. She wasn't going to stop searching for her loved ones, she thought to herself. She wiped her tears, took a deep breath and said aloud, "I'm not giving up."

The young girl wakes up to the humid afternoon of the Texas heat and gets out of her car to stretch. She squints her eyes at the radiating sun and stops at the sound of barking dogs. She creeps through the tall grass of the field toward the road. When she gets close enough she sees the front of an old dirty modest house.

She starts to stand up higher to get a better view of the dogs in their kennel outside in the backyard but ducks back down when she hears a screen door squeaking open then slamming shut. An elderly man is yelling at the dogs to hold their horses and that he'll feed them when he's damn good and ready. Her eyes grow wider at what she sees next.

The old man is carrying black trash bags that seem to be full. He throws them in the back of his pick up truck in the drive way to the left of the house while he mumbles, "God damned dogs.". She can't help but want to see what's inside them. As he goes back inside the house with the screen door slamming behind him, she runs across the road to the truck.

Hurrying as fast as she can, she opens one of the bags and rummages through the clothes inside them. Immediately she recognizes them and gasps. She wants to be sure she has her accusations right so she digs into them further... finding blood stains on her father's shirt. She pulls out a wallet and sees the driver's license that reads her father's name.

She sighs in disbelief of what she is finding and her eyes start to tear up. The girl covers her mouth but it's no use. She can't control her emotions. The screen door squeaks and around the corner of the house the old crotchity man bearing a shotgun starts after her. She runs away into the field and across it to a wooded clearing. Hounds start baying in the distance and one of them is getting increasingly closer.

The girl runs and dodges trees all she can but when she tries to jump over a fallen log she trips. She looks at her scraped leg and hears the hound closing in on her. Immediately she curls up behind the log interlocking her fingers to hold her knees to her chest while she is gasping for air. The hound slows down and starts sniffing around and finds her.

But to her surprise the dog runs to her and tries playing. While the dog is licking her face she pets it to calm him down. The dog starts licking her wound and she can't help but to feel comforted. It's just what she needed in this situation. She pets him long enough to get him to sit still. While the other dogs are running in every direction trying to find her, the old man is creeping through the woods in her vacinity.

He calls out to her, 'Come out come out where ever you are.' She starts to get nervous, but her new found friend reassures her. Unfortunately for her his tail wagging against the leaves gives away her location and a shot rings out. Spooked by this, her and the dog bolt from their position and she takes off running.

Unable to catch up, the old man short of breath grabs at his chest and falls over face down into the leaves. The girl runs with the dog as far as she can until she reaches a small worn wood panel shed. she goes inside for cover to catch her breath and calls for the dog to follow.
